Most of my work days are spent doing the same things that many of you do – sending and responding to an endless supply of emails, dialing in to conference calls, processing invoices, attending meetings, etc. The only difference is that I can walk outside of my office and see this at any given moment (and don’t think that I ever take this for granted):
Sunset Key Dock
However, one day last week, I received a call from Tracy, the new manager of The Spa at Sunset Key, beckoning me to come in and talk to her about new ideas she had and also get a few spa treatments. No arm-twisting required there – let’s go!
The Spa at Sunset Key - Private Patio
(This is the time where I update my Facebook status to say something envy-producing about how I won’t be available online for a while because I’m taking a boat out to a private island off Key West for some tropical spa treatments… You can thank me later for this idea when you’re posting your own version from the deck of the Lil Princess, our boat to Sunset Key.)
I CAN tell you that we have some exciting product line offerings in the works, as well as some other surprises, but I CAN’T tell you what they are yet. Drats! Moving along to the amazing treatments…
My lovely therapist began with the Pure Fiji Tropical Sugar Scrub, which starts with warm coconut milk drizzled over your skin followed by an infused tropical sugar scrub to exfoliate and hydrate your entire body. It was absolutely heavenly and my skin has never felt so soft! Note: If you have recently shaved your legs, or maybe have a mosquito bite or two, sugar scrub is a much better option than salt scrub because it won’t sting like salt scrub can – island wisdom!
Next up was a massage using Pure Fiji’s Coconut Milk & Honey Body Oil. I rarely treat myself to massages, so this was extra special, and the fragrance of the oil put me in a state of total relaxation so I could experience maximum therapeutic benefits. Pure Fiji describes this oil as, “A balanced blend of cold pressed Virgin Coconut, Macadamia, Sikeci and Dilo nut oils that form a unique bio-network promoting cellular renewal for younger looking skin and protection from environmental elements.” I don’t care who you are – we can all use a little of that!
Finally, since my therapist was also an aesthetician, I received a Balancing Facial using products from Aromatherapy Associates. These products combine effective treatments with aromatherapy so there is a sense of well-being created both inside and out. You should check out all of the awards, accolades and recommendations this company has received in the beauty industry on their Facebook page! We are so happy to carry this line at The Spa at Sunset Key.
Just in case you were starting to get a little a jealous of my “work” day at the spa, do know that I did have to go back to my desk after this little retreat… But I sure did smell good while I was answering emails!
You can book your own spa day by calling The Spa at Sunset Key (The Spa at Sunset Key is open to everyone, not just guests of Sunset Key) at 305.292.5370 and be sure to check out our spa menu here.
